SES environments

An SES environment connects an institute to the built-in SES exam platform. Unlike external EMS environments, no proxy is involved.

Creating an SES environment

  1. Go to Administration → SES environments → Add
  2. Fill in:
    • Name: display name (e.g. "Built-in SES")
    • EMS slug: URL-safe identifier, determines the exam path
    • EMS brand: SES (built-in)
    • Browser type: SEB or SES Client
  3. Save

Behaviour

  • No proxy configuration required
  • Exams are taken directly inside the SES platform
  • AI question generation becomes available
  • Students authenticate via OIDC before taking exams
SES vs external EMS

With SES (built-in) environments, everything runs on the platform itself and AI question generation is available. With External EMS environments, exams live in a third-party system and are reached via the proxy.
