Introduction

SES delivers exams securely through the Safe Exam Browser (SEB). This short guide explains how you, as a student, take an exam.

How it works

  1. You receive an 8-character access code from your teacher (e.g. AB12CD34)
  2. You open your institute's exam-entry page
  3. You enter the code
  4. You log in with your institute's SSO account
  5. A SEB configuration file is downloaded
  6. SEB opens and the exam loads
  7. You answer and submit
  8. You close SEB

Requirements

  • Safe Exam Browser installed (safeexambrowser.org)
  • A stable internet connection
  • Your institute login credentials
Use SEB

You must use SEB — a normal browser is not allowed.

  • Exam content is encrypted
  • Answers auto-save every 30 seconds
  • Tab switches and focus loss are monitored
  • The timer counts down and submits automatically at time-up
